The link will take you to the same page, where the “Request archive” button will now say “Download archive”. Once the download is ready, LinkedIn will send you an email with a link to download the file. Enter your password to confirm that you are the account owner requesting your data. The download will take up to 24 hours to be ready and will then be available for 72 hours, during this period you will not be able to request another archive.
Tip: Be sure that you request all the data you want as you won’t be able to request another archive for a while. When you have selected how to check for changed files, you can select if you want to append date and/or time to the destination directory/file. You’ll be required to enter your password to confirm the action. Once you’ve selected which data you want to receive, click “Request archive”. So, once it is set up you always have a backup of your data somewhere else. No matter which combination of data you request like this, LinkedIn estimates that your data will be ready for download in ten minutes. It runs in the background with no user interaction. You can choose between any combination of the following: articles, imported contacts, invitations, recommendations, connections, messages, profile, and registration. The second option is to only download data specifically from your account. The delta files allow data users to quickly identify new or updated LEIs and reference data without the need to download the files containing the complete. LinkedIn estimates that it will take 24 hours to process your request for this type of data archive.
The first option is a full data archive of all of your data, data LinkedIn has inferred about you, and data about your connections. Select which data you wish to receive a copy of. Here you can choose what data you want to download. The section you want is called “Get a copy of your data” and is the second section under “How LinkedIn uses your data”.
Scroll to the “How LinkedIn uses your data” section of the “Privacy” tab. Next, you need to click on “How LinkedIn uses your data” in the column on the left.
The settings will immediately open to the privacy tab. Click “Me” in the top bar, then “Settings & Privacy”. To do so, click on “Me” in the top bar, then click “Settings & Privacy”. To request a copy of your data, you need to open the LinkedIn settings.
